Connector & Terminal
OBD2, Deutsch, DB15, RJ45, Type-C, XT series, Anderson and customer-specified connectors.
A practical input and validation checklist for engineering and procurement teams defining a new industrial equipment harness or cable assembly before supplier capability review.

Connector selection and wire size cannot be reviewed in isolation. Fixed or moving installation, voltage and current, temperature, vibration, bend radius, liquids, abrasion, service access and applicable project standards all affect the design inputs.

OBD2, Deutsch, DB15, RJ45, Type-C, XT series, Anderson and customer-specified connectors.

Built according to pin definition, diagnostic protocol and equipment interface requirements.

Length, wire gauge, core count, shielding, jacket material and branching can all be adjusted.

Neutral packaging, buyer labels, model stickers, barcodes and instruction sheets.

Drawing, sample, connector photos, pinout or target device model.

Confirm connector type, wiring route, material spec and feasibility.

Sample made for fit, continuity and function testing.

Mass production after approval, batch inspection before shipment.
There is no single generic test plan for every industrial harness. The approved drawing, material specifications, operating environment and customer acceptance criteria determine which electrical, mechanical and environmental checks are required.
Operating voltage, current and circuit functions documented
Connector interfaces, pin map, wire structure and routing constraints defined
Mechanical and environmental risks converted into measurable requirements
Sample records and acceptance criteria approved before volume discussion
At minimum, identify both interfaces, pin assignment, wire size and construction, circuit functions, finished dimensions, branches, labels, protection, tolerances and any referenced material or workmanship specifications.
Record whether the harness is fixed or moving, the expected temperature range, vibration, bend radius, abrasion, oil or chemical exposure, moisture or dust, service access and nearby heat sources.
Not reliably. Current is one input, but conductor length, voltage drop, bundling, ambient temperature, duty cycle, insulation and applicable project requirements also affect the choice.
Possible checks include visual inspection, dimensions, continuity, resistance, insulation, pull force, retention, sealing or environmental validation. The actual list and limits must be agreed for the project.
No. It is a requirements checklist. Manufacturing capability, materials, tooling, process controls and validation scope must be reviewed for each project before a supply commitment is made.
Send the drawing or sample, connector details, pin map, electrical loads, installation environment, required checks and expected quantity range. We will first identify missing information and review feasibility.
ContactCustom wire harness manufacturing from our China factory, with OEM/ODM project support.
A sample, clear connector photos or a description of the equipment and required quantity is enough to start a review.
When available, include drawings and BOM, connector and mating part numbers, pinout, wire length and gauge, branch layout, quantity and required tests. Materials, inspection scope and delivery are confirmed for each project.
