Selection & Project Review
01 Application Boundary
A trailer harness is not one universal cable. Connector family, regional interface, system voltage, circuit count, trailer length, axle and brake architecture, installed equipment and exposure determine the released design. A plug that mates mechanically does not prove pin assignment, current capacity, grounding, network compatibility or environmental performance.
02 Project Inputs
Provide towing vehicle and trailer type; market and applicable interface standard; system voltage; connector and mating-part data; circuit table and loads; lighting, brake, ABS/EBS and auxiliary equipment; trailer length, axle count and articulation points; chassis route photographs; clips and pass-throughs; water, salt, mud, UV and washdown exposure; drawings or sample; labels; quantity; and required validation.
03 Release Records
Approved requirements become controlled drawings, circuit and pin tables, BOMs, cut lists, splice maps, route datums, protection instructions, labels and test programs. First articles are checked for mating, reach, articulation, chassis clearance, lamp and equipment function and agreed vehicle behavior before repeat production. Records remain linked to trailer configuration and drawing revision.
04 Interface Review
Confirm the exact mating interface, pin map, dimensions and installation orientation.
05 Sample Acceptance
Agree the sample configuration and electrical, mechanical or environmental checks required by the project.
06 Change Control
Record changes to materials, drawings and process instructions before repeat manufacture.
Send the part number, drawing or sample to confirm the replacement configuration and sourcing plan.
